New Driver Experience is a new initiative from Mercedes-Benz World for drivers who have recently passed their driving test, or those who may have had a break from driving.
With coaching from a professional instructor, focused on extending driving skills and experience onwards from what is taught for the test. Find out how a car behaves in slippery conditions, fast emergency stops and other emergency situations.
Learn about ultimate car control and what to expect if there is a skid or sudden change in road surface. All in a safe environment, in a Mercedes-Benz, on the Mercedes-Benz World Test Tracks. With the calm guidance of a professional throughout, it’s a unique way to be prepared for when the unexpected happens on the road.

CAT C+E (artic) and Driver CPC. Medical, provisional application, 3 theory tests, 1 practical CPC test (or 35 hours Periodic CPC) and 8 days C+E driver training with DVSA driving test.
The option is now to go from car licence (cat B) all the way to C+E (class 1) without doing the cat C (class 2, rigid).
It’s not easy going from driving a car to passing a driving test in a Large Goods Vehicle in such a short space of time.
Ideally, you will have many years of driving experience and some knowledge/experience of reversing trailers. But don’t worry! EP has the facilities and instructors to teach you what you need to know and do to pass the test.
This course covers everything needed to get you on the road driving and earning as a commercial LGV Class 1 driver. It includes the medical and theory tests, 8 days driver training, and Driver CPC qualification (Initial or Periodic). It is going to take about 8-10 weeks (from medical) to get everything that is required.
EP Training’s staff will be on hand to assist with the whole process of passing the medical through to passing the theory and practical driving tests.
The costs quoted above include the following:
- A medical assessment (this takes no more than 1 hour). This will be completed at EP Training’s training centre in Great Bookham, Surrey.
- Whilst the medical is being completed, we shall also complete the provisional licence application and forward to DVLA.
- Online, official, unlimited theory tuition. Forget about books and CD-ROMs. We have the official theory tuition online.
- 3 theory tests booked at your nearest theory test centre.
- 8 days practical on-road LGV training course. Practical training will be delivered in and around the Guildford area, with a driving test booked for the end of your course.
- 1 day Initial with test (Module 4) or 35 hours periodic Driver CPC training.
The 'Pass Protection' is optional and buys you two free practical driving retests should you need them. It’s a good idea to take the pass protection as it gives you another 2 driving tests; the price otherwise is £450 per retest. The pass protection must be purchased before the start of the driving.
