I’m Rob Underhay, driving instructor, father and founder of The World Of Driving.

I know first-hand that passing your driving test doesn't necessarily mean you're fully prepared for everything that comes next.

I passed my test at 17 — and just three months later, I put my father's car around a lamppost.

Thankfully, we walked away from it, but the experience stayed with me.

It is one of the reasons I believe learning to drive should be about far more than simply doing enough to pass a driving test.

Building Safer Drivers for Life

At The World Of Driving, our aim is to help learners become safe, confident and responsible drivers who are properly prepared for real-world driving.

That starts with the quality of the people teaching them.

We carefully select the instructors who represent TWO-D, looking not only at their ability to teach, but also their professionalism, patience, reliability and commitment to road safety.

Our philosophy is simple:

We don't just teach you to pass. We prepare you for what comes afterwards.

About Rob

I have worked as a driving instructor for more than 11 years and have had the privilege of helping people of all ages experience the freedom and independence that driving can bring.

I have also worked alongside the team at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, helping young people experience driving for the first time, as well as working with adults on driving experiences including the Mercedes-Benz G-Class 4x4 experience.

My interest in road safety goes well beyond driving lessons.

I founded Voices for Road Safety, an independent initiative created to bring people, organisations and ideas together around one objective:

Making our roads safer.

I am also passionate about bringing the driving-instructor community together, sharing knowledge and raising standards across our profession.

Ultimately, everything connects to the same belief.

Passing your test is only the beginning.

Learning to drive gives you an incredible freedom — but with that freedom comes responsibility.

Through The World Of Driving and Voices for Road Safety, I want to help create a future where people don't simply learn how to pass a driving test.

They learn how to become safer drivers for life.
